Counselling

Child Aware psychologists and mental health accredited social workers are experienced in working with child protection issues and are passionate about working with families to prioritise the best interests and safety of their children.

We work with children that have experienced harm, including:

• Sexual abuse
• Neglect
• Physical abuse
• Emotional abuse
• Witnessing domestic violence

When working with children that have experienced harm Child Aware provide evidence based counselling services. Child Aware are experienced in working with the Department of Child Safety Services, Queensland Police and Family Court of Australia and are able to assist families that are involved with these services.

Services include:

• Counselling for children of all ages that have experienced harm
• Counselling for parents and family members of children that have been affected by harm
• Parent Education about child protection concerns and harm types
• Protective behaviours education for children to teach a range of skills and strategies to assist in preventing and reducing harm.
